MY KITCHEN

by Tina Diep

My KitchenSince I moved from Denmark to New York, my kitchen (as seen on the picture) has downsized big time. I used to have a nice and decent size kitchen, and now I am struggling trying to find some countertop space and storage for all my kitchen tools. (My friends would probably tell you that my kitchen is big for me, since I am a petite girl who has a hard time reaching the top of the shelves and cabinets.)

Nevertheless, I believe I am a better cook in New York than in Denmark, as the many different cultural foods available in New York have inspired my cooking. It is also true that people in Denmark don’t eat out as often as New Yorkers do, which may inspire a larger kitchen, but not creative cuisine.

You don’t need a big and fancy kitchen to make the food that I am making, although it certainly doesn’t hurt.

Hi Tina Diep, I have been thoroughly enjoying your blog AND your photos. We met and chatted a few weeks ago at the Canon Service Center and I have been reading your blog since.

I do have to say, your photos are all well done – food is not always an easy subject to photograph. You have quickly learned to do an excellent job taking your pics..

I was flying back from San Francisco today. I picked up the current issue (10/13) of Popular Photography and there was an interesting article on photographing food – thought you might want to check it out.

I am thoroughly enjoying your work on DiepLicious. I hope you had/are having a great experience in Vietnam!

Best wishes!

Doug

Hi Doug, that is so sweet of you to think of me. I will definitely look into the magazine. I have a lot to learn still. My pictures are always the best when shot at daylight unfortunately I do most of my cooking in the evening. I am still enjoying Vietnam and all the food. It is an amazing country. There is still a lot to see and taste. Thanks again for the kind words as you seem to be a very good photographer so it is an honor to hear that you think that they look nice. Take care Tina
